Two days in Newcastle

Starting at 11.00 through until 4.00 - with a mid day break.

Saturday : Meet at Haymarket Metro: 11.00am

Universities - two campuses chockful of delights including the Hatton Gallery - containing Kurt Schwitter's Merzbau Barn and the Farrell Centre.

Civic Centre - a triumph of Municipal Modernism designed by city architect George Kenyon - truly a public palace.

Manors Car Park - the last gasp of the inner-city concrete walkways and ramps.

With a break for lunch (1:00 ish)

Sunday : meet at Baltic 10.45am

Baltic Centre and riverside - a magnificent industrial cultural conversion one for the flour children.

Byker Wall - the finest of public housing designed by Ralph Erskine.

Back to town on the Metro - multitude of extraneous sights and sites as we pass through the city of Newcastle including the Arup-designed Ouseburn viaduct as well as the Metro’s wonderful design.

With a break for lunch (1:00 ish)
