UTILITY x the modernist - Liverpool App Launch and Presentation - 'Seaport reflected: Architecture and Townscape 1965-2025’

Thursday 16th April at UTILITY 2 Flint St, Liverpool L1 0DH

6pm for a 6.15pm start

*There is a £5 charge but there will be free refreshments*

Please join us to celebrate the launch of 4 new walking tours of Liverpool on our app.

Eddy Rhead from the modernist will give a short introduction to the app tours and its contents.

Then Richard Brook (Lancaster University) and Dominic Wilkinson (LJMU) will discuss the development of Liverpool as a regional centre and comparisons with other British cities. Focussed on the post-war period, the conversation will explore growth, urban motorways, commercial development, advancing heritage ideals and how the city’s architecture fitted and responded to these contexts. Richard and Dominic welcome audience input and hope for an inclusive event that considers the legacies of the twentieth century for ill or good.

The event is kindly hosted by UTILITY in their beautiful furniture showroom on Flint Street in the Baltic district.

The Liverpool tours have been made possible with support from the Arts & Culture Fund, delivered by Liverpool Business Improvement District (BID).
