Tuesday 8th November 2pm
Meet outside Rochdale Train Station

2.00-4.00pm

Hard hat experience to see the renovation work being undertaken:

This is a wonderful opportunity to see the repairs being done to one of Rochdale’s most important buildings.

The church has been awarded a number of grants from various funders including the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Viridor, Benefact Trust and is being supported by the Diocese of Salford.

You will be able to learn about the origins of the church, its design and influences why it is designated a grade II* building and why it has been placed on the at-risk register.

You will see the impact of the stained-glass windows and you will be able to see the stunning mosaic being repaired and cleaned by experienced mosaic specialists.

It is an opportunity to meet and speak with the contractors dealing with the repairs.

You will be able to view the external scaffold design and will also have an opportunity to go up in the spider to see the internal repairs.

The visit will be followed by a walk to see the Seven Sisters Flats.

All proceeds will be donated to the Church of St.John the Baptist

With this in mind we are offering tickets on a 'pay what you can' donation basis - with tickets starting at £5.
