Otl Aicher pictogram 0192 (breakfast) - black print
Put an egg on it!
Otl Aicher's pictogram 0192, featuring a breakfast cup and egg cup, is one of our all-time favorites. It perfectly embodies the playful spirit of the idea that you can always improve something by putting an egg on it!
The graphic branding for the 1972 Munich Olympics, spearheaded by Otl Aicher and his Department XI, is widely considered a high watermark for Modernist graphic design. Among its most enduring legacies are the intuitive wayfaring pictograms, designed by Gerhard Joksch. These weren't just for guiding visitors around the Olympic site; they were extensively used across a vast array of visual materials essential for a modern Olympic Games, showcasing their versatility and timeless appeal.
