Runcorn new town
Inspired by our battered copy of the Runcorn new town Master Plan from 1967, we present our t-shirts featuring the Runcorn 'figure of eight' logo.
Runcorn is located on the south side of the River Mersey about 14 miles from the centre of Liverpool and a masterplan for a new town was put forward by the Runcorn Development Corporation with a view to creating a town reaching a population of 90,000-100,000 people.
'The main new residential area form a series of communities of 8000 poulation, surrounded by a park and linked by a rapid transport system of buses on a reserved track. these buses pass through the local centres of the communities and their rout forms the spine of a 'figure of eight' system with the new town at its intersection.'
The figure of eight logo features heavily in the document, creating a strong visual identity for the plan.
The colour of the logo on our t-shirt also references the planning document, as we offer an option of orange or mustard.
