Location: The Proud Place, 49-51 Sidney St, Manchester M1 7HB

A short 4 week course, Tuesday nights in April, in which Eddy Rhead will lead an intimate and informal 'Introduction To Modernism'.

Using four key Manchester buildings we will look at how Modernism influenced Manchester and, in some cases, how Manchester influenced Modernism. Using these buildings we will then zoom out to look at the broader context of how and why buildings look they way do and a wider overview of Modernism in a global sense.

The four sessions will look at four key building types - COMMERCIAL, EDUCATION, HOUSING and INFRASTRUCTURE.

The sessions will be decidedly non-academic and hopefully appeal to both the uninitiated and hardcore Modernists alike.

The group will be small to allow an informal and convivial atmosphere and open discussion will be encouraged.

Sessions will be approx 2 hours long with a short break. The Proud Place is well placed for public transport and close to the city centre. It is fully accessible and is a comfortable and inviting space.

Course Fees
£100 for four sessions
£85 Concessions
(Concessions include the unwaged, Over 65s, Disabled, Students and under 25s)

This is a chance to learn more about Modernism in a relaxed and informal atmosphere and meet like minded Modernists.
