Peter James Houghton's acrylic landscapes deal with societal decline, hiraeth and human isolation in the post-information age told through the gaze of buildings that once served thriving working class communities but now stand neglected, silently awaiting their fate like unsettling backdrops to hazy memories of our hometowns- bruised by the elements and scarred by generations of lives before us.

Stark scenes of condemned post-war social housing, vacant shopping precincts, or brutalist remnants of seaside resorts struggling to transition into functional towns, are captured in stasis in all their atrophy as reminders of our crumbling past and our precarious future existence.
