The Modernist Book Fair at Vitsœ
London, UK, September 2023 - the modernist, a quarterly magazine dedicated to modernist architecture and design, is proud to present The Modernist Book Fair, a two-day event featuring some of the best independent publishers in the field.

The book fair will take place on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd of September, as part of the London Design Festival 2023, at the Vitsœ store in Marylebone, where visitors can browse and buy books, magazines, maps, zines and more, all celebrating the legacy and diversity of modernism.
The Modernist Book Fair is a unique opportunity to discover and support the work of independent publishers who are passionate about modernist architecture and design. Whether you are a fan of Bauhaus, brutalism or anything in between, you will find something to inspire and delight you at this event.
The Modernist Book Fair will also host a special panel discussion on Friday 22nd at 7.00pm (arrivals from 6.30pm), moderated by Helen Barrett. The panel will share their insights and experiences on publishing about modernist architecture. Places are limited and must be reserved in advance here.
Helen Barrett is a journalist who writes for the FT, the Telegraph, the Spectator, the Critic and other publications on art, design, architecture, fashion, music, travel, books, modern life and popular culture.
Alongside the modernist, confirmed participants include representatives from Blue Crow Maps, publisher of a range of architectural maps; photographer Martin Dust, publisher of Brutal Yorkshire; Simon Phipps, photographer with books including Brutal North, Brutal London and Concrete Poetry; designer and author Stefi Orazi of Modernist Estates and the popular Perambulations series; The Twentieth Century Society who campaign to save outstanding modernist architecture and UHM Zines who feature a variety of photographers that focus their lenses on Brutalist architecture.
The Modernist Book Fair will take place at Vitsœ, 21 Marylebone Lane, London W1U 2NG.Admission to the fair is free although there will be small charge for the Friday evening event to cover refreshments.
